STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State University's athletics department is hosting a virtual pep rally to connect fans with the Cowboy basketball team.
The department has been overwhelmed by fans wanting to let the Cowboys know they are behind them even if they can't be with them when they take on Seton Hall Friday night in the East Regional at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York.
"Since we aren't able to give the team a proper sendoff in Stillwater, (the team went from Buffalo to Syracuse without returning to campus) let's send them our thoughts and encouragement and let them know how much we are all behind them," said Lance Millis, OSU graduate and Cowboy basketball fan. "This will help the fans feel like they are part of the Sweet Sixteen."
The virtual pep rally has been set up at www.okstate.com and fans who would like to log on and participate may do so throughout the duration of the tournament.
As a part of this virtual pep rally, local fans including Millis are soliciting artwork, signs and messages from elementary schools. Any artwork collected by Thursday will be hand delivered or overnighted to the team. Interested parties may deliver the artwork to the OSU Student Union Welcome Center or the information desk of Willard Hall as soon as possible.
