Cowboys Handle Yale In First Leg Of Ivy League Trip

BOSTON -- The Oklahoma State men's tennis team zipped to their third consecutive win by a count of 8-1 over Yale University on Friday evening.
Freshman Eru Lyndon suffered his first setback of the season, dropping a grueling three-set affair with Greg Royce, 6-7, 7-6, 7-5. The Cowboys (3-0) rebounded, reeling off five consecutive straight-set wins to put the match away.
"It was a good win for our guys and a great way to start off the weekend road trip," assistant coach Brad Chiller said.
Three Cowboys, Matt Streeter, Fran Krepelka and Jeremy Ewert kept their perfect record in tact, each improving to 3-0. Junior Chris Bates and freshman Jiri Kezek also posted wins for the Cowboys.
In doubles action, OSU swept all three contests for the second consecutive match. On the season, the Cowboys have won eight of nine doubles matches.
The Pokes will continue their trek through the Ivy League at 10 A.M. Saturday morning when they take on the Brown Bears.
