LAST TIME OUT
Washington's Kellie O'Neill scored a game-high 20 points and the Huskies halted a late rally by Oklahoma State as the Cowgirls fell to UW, 66-59. Washington took an early 8-0 lead in a game in which it never trailed. By the 14-minute mark of the first half, the Huskies had taken an 11-point lead, 16-5. Oklahoma State cut the lead back to three at 19-16 midway through the first period, and trailed by just two with 1:43 remaining in the half. A pair of baskets put UW ahead, 35-30, at the intermission. In the first six minutes of the second stanza, Washington went on a 16-2 run and took a 19-point lead, the biggest of the game. In that span, OSU missed 11-of-12 field-goal attempts, including four layups. The Cowgirls missed nine point-blank shots in the game. OSU went on an 18-6 run of its own over the next 11 minutes, including 11 free throws. However, the Huskies scored twice and hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final 2-1/2 minutes to preserve the win. A pair of three-pointers by Jessica Spinner and a trey by Machell Roberts at the buzzer made the score respectable. Spinner led the Cowgirls with 11 points and seven rebounds, while Trisha Skibbe also scored in double figures with 10 points. Shelby Hutchens, Roberts and Jessica Bates each chipped in nine points.
