Cowgirls Host First Game In Gallagher-IBA Arena

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl basketball team, fresh off a tournament championship at the Bahamas Sunsplash Shootout, will host its first game of the season in the new Gallagher-Iba Arena on Friday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m. The Cowgirls will host West Virginia.
Oklahoma State is 7-3 this season and coming off a 58-54 overtime win over previously undefeated Alabama in the championship game of the Sunsplash Shootout. The Cowgirls are currently ranked 25th in the latest Ratings Percentage Index.
The Cowgirls are led by junior Kara Faulk, who is averaging 10.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the Bahamas tournament. Freshman Trisha Skibbe, who is averaging 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest, was also named to the all-tournament team.
OSU will open the 2000-01 Big 12 Conference season on Wednesday, Jan. 3, as the Cowgirls travel to Waco, Texas, to play the Baylor Lady Bears (10-0). Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
