OSU Netters Do Battle in Georgia

Four OSU Netters battled their way through the first round with victories. Two Cowboys, Chris Bates and Fran Krepelka, made the round of 64 of pre-qualifying.
In the first round, Chris Bates defeated Bernard Tsepelman 6-1, 6-4, Matt Prentice lost to nationally-ranked Petr Koula 6-7, 6-3, 6-2, and Eru Lyndon defeated Josh Rey 6-0, 6-3. Fran and Jiri both drew byes to advance.
In second round action, Bates defeated George Dubrava 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, Krepelka defeated Yorke Allen 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, Jezek lost to Chris Wettengel 3-6, 6-2, 7-6(7) and Lyndon lost to Yew Ming Si 6-4, 6-2.
Bates defeated Big 12 foe Keith From of Texas A&M and Krepelka defeated Auburn's Andre Boz in straight sets to advance to the fourth round.
In doubles action, Eru Lyndon and Matt Prentice defeated Florida's Hahn and Levant in first round action. In the second round, Bates and Krepelka defeated David Cheatwood and Marcio Petrone 8-3, while Lyndon and Prentice defeated Franciso Diaz and Pablo Sahugun 8-2.
