DALLAS - Oklahoma State's Jennifer Crow was named Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week and Texas A&M's Jaynetta Saunders was named Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week by a vote of a media panel for games played from Jan. 24-30.
Crow, a 5-9 senior guard, averaged 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists while contributing one block and four steals in OSU's two games last week.
She scored a career-high 34 points in a 75-72 win over Colorado, including 11 during a 21-0 run that put the Cowgirls ahead for good. The Corn, Okla., native also had 10 rebounds and eight assists, missing a triple-double by two assists.
Crow is just five rebounds shy of becoming the third player in school history to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists and 150 steals in a career. She will be the first player to ever post 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists and 150 steals.
It was the second such honor for a Cowgirl, as junior Tari Cummings earned the award on Dec. 20 after scoring 33 points and grabbing 15 rebounds vs. Washington.
Oklahoma State (12-7 overall, 4-3 Big 12) will host the Missouri Tigers on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
