Cowgirl Women's Basketball Defeats Buffaloes, 75-72

BOULDER, Colo. - Oklahoma State's Jennifer Crow had a career day with 34 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as the Cowgirls defeated the Colorado Buffaloes, 75-72, here Saturday afternoon in the Coors Events Center.
Crow, who was 12-of-26 from the field, was unstoppable. She connect on 6-of-10 three pointers and was 4-of-6 from the free-throw line. Junior Reba Johnson added a career-high 16 rebounds, which is also a team-season high.
The Cowgirls, who trailed by seven at the half, 47-40, fell behind by as many as 14 just 2:41 into the second period. Oklahoma State then went on a 21-0 run, including 11 by Crow, and led, 61-54, with 11:35 remaining in the game.
OSU led by as many as 11 at the 7:56 mark when Devon Magness scored two of her seven points on a layup on the left side fed by Johnson. CU's Mandy Nightingale, a Sapulpa, Okla., product, hit a three to cut the lead back into single digits.
The Cowgirls maintained a three to five point lead throughout the final five minutes of the game and the Buffaloes, trailing by three with :23 seconds to go, tried to get a shot off with about :10 seconds remaining, but Nightingale's shot was blocked by OSU's Shelby Hutchens. CU settled for a two-point shot by Britt Hartshorn, and Cowgirl Jessica Spinner hit two free throws with :03.5 seconds remaining for the final score.
Three Buffaloes tied for the team lead with 17 points, including Nightingale, Hartshorn, and Jenny Roulier.
Oklahoma State (12-7 overall, 4-3 Big 12) will return home on Wednesday, Feb. 2, for a game with the Missouri Tigers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
