Cowgirl Golf Ranked 11th In Preseason Poll

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team is the 11th-best team in the country, according to the Collegiate Golf preseason rankings, released today by MasterCard. Junior Maria Boden, the Big 12 Conference's Golfer of the Year last season, is ranked ninth individually in the same release.

Duke takes the top spot with 274 votes, followed by Arizona with 264. Georgia is third with 251 votes, while USC (231) and Pepperdine (230) round out the top five. The Big 12's Texas is sixth with 225 points.

Duke is led by Beth Bauer, who sits atop the individual rankings, followed by Arizona's Jenna Daniels. Boden is the highest-ranked golfer from a Big 12 school.

Oklahoma State opens the 1999 fall season on Monday, Sept. 123 at the Big 12 Preview in Lincoln, Neb.
