Men's Basketball Keeps 2000-2001 Season in Mind

STILLWATER, Okla. - Two men's basketball players, Antoine Broxsie and Victor Williams, have transferred to Oklahoma State.
Although they will practice with the team, both Broxsie and Williams will sit out the 1999-2000 competitive season under NCAA four-year-transfer guidelines.
Broxsie, who will be a junior in the 2000-01 season, comes to OSU from Minnesota, where he played in 57 games and excelled as a shot-blocker. He averaged 1.6 points during his two seasons but recorded 72 blocked shots during that time as well.
The 6-10, 230-pound forward hails from Tampa, Fla., where he averaged 17 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks per game as a senior at Tampa Bay Technical High School.
Williams checks in at just 5-10 and 170 pounds but started 25 games as Illinois State's point guard in 1998-99, earning Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year honors. He averaged 7.9 points and 3.3 assists and came into his own during the last eight games of the season, when he recorded 13.4 points and 4.0 assists per game while hitting 53.1 percent of his three-point attempts for the Redbirds.
A native of Kansas City, Kan., Williams led Wyandotte to the 1998 5A state championship, averaging 19.6 points, 6.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds to earn player-of-the-year plaudits. He will have three years of eligibility remaining when he joins the active roster in 2000-01.
Men's basketball practice begins Oct. 16, the 1999-2000 Cowboys boast six scholarship seniors on their roster, including five players who started at least 15 games a year ago.
