STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State senior forward Desmond Mason is one of six Big 12 men's basketball players named to the Wooden Award's preseason watch list announced last week.
Texas' Chris Mihm and Oklahoma's Eduardo Najera were named to the list of the nation's top 25 preseason players, while Mason was joined by Kansas' Luke Axtell and Eric Chenowith and Iowa State's Marcus Fizer in the second group.
Mason is OSU's top-leading returning scorer in 1999-2000, two of the best games of his career came in last year's NCAA Tournament, when he scored a total of 54 points to rank third among all tournament players in the preliminary rounds.
The 6-foot-6-inch, 207-pound native of Waxahachie, Texas, is one of seven seniors - five of whom started at least 15 games a year ago - on the Cowboys' 1999-2000 roster.
