OSU leads the all-time series, 33-26.
LAST TIME
Oklahoma State went to the free-throw line 35 time and connected on a season- high 30 as the Cowgirls defeated the Baylor Lady Bears, 59-55, Saturday afternoon in Gallagher-Iba Arena. Junior Jennifer Crow had a game-high 18 points, including 11 from the line. OSU trailed by as many as 10 in the first half and, down by nine with 12:45 remaining in the game, the Cowgirls went on a 14-0 run, including seven by Jessica Spinner. A freshman from Australia, Spinner drove to the hole four times in two minutes, and each time was fouled, making 7- of-8 from the line. Freshman Coleman Smith came off the bench for 10 points, and senior Nikki Harmon added 11 points and eight rebounds. OSU scored 20 points off 21 BU turnovers.
COMING UP
Oklahoma State returns to Gallagher-Iba Arena for the final game of this in- state span as the Cowgirls host the Texas Tech Lady Raiders (14-1, 3-0) on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. On the following Wednesday, OSU will travel to Austin, Texas to face the Texas Longhorns (8-4, 2-1) at 7 p.m. in the Erwin Events Center.
COWGIRL NOTE-ABLE
Senior guard Kourtney Bower leads the Big 12 Conference with a 2.50 assists-to- turnover ratio ... Oklahoma State leads the league and is second in the country in free-throw percentage, making 78.1 percent of its shots from the line ... Both Nikki Harmon and Jennifer Crow rank one-two in free-throw percentage in the Big 12 ... Harmon's 4.85 assists per game is the fifth-best in the league ... Megan Gregg is just eight field goals shy of qualifying for the Big 12 and NCAA shooting-percentage lists. Her 60.0 percent from the floor would rank third in the league ... Several of OSU's current players have moved up the Cowgirl career charts this season. Jennifer Crow, in her third year in an OSU uniform, is currently tied for second on the three-pointers made list with 110. She needs just two more to own the OSU career record. She is also sixth on the free-throws made list with 314. Bower ranks 11th on the career three-pointers made list with 47, and sophomore Devon Magness is already 11th on the career blocked-shots list with 37 ... The Cowgirls will play eight teams this season that are currently receiving votes in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.
CROW NEARING MILESTONE
Junior Jennifer Crow is currently 96 points shy of the 1,000 mark in her career. She already has 223 this season in 13 games and, on her current pace, would break the barrier sometime in early February. She leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game, and also leads the team in three-pointers made with 20. She is second on the team and in the Big 12 Conference in free throw percentage, and her 85 FTs made lead the league. Jennifer has scored in double figures in 48 of her 71 career games, and has scored at least 20 points in 10 games. Jennifer recorded the second double-double of her career with 19 points and 11 rebounds vs. Stephen F. Austin. This season, Jennifer was named the MVP of the Jackson Diamond Jewelers' Cowgirl Classic, and was named to the all- tournament team of the Beach Classic.
HARMON WELL BALANCED
Cowgirl senior Nikki Harmon was expected to be a scoring threat this season, but she has improved her game in all aspects for her senior year. Harmon is averaging 9.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. She is also averaging 5.3 assists per game from her small forward position, including a career-high 10 vs. Vanderbilt. Nikki leads the team and the Big 12 Conference in free-throw shooting, connecting on 41-of-44 shots from the line this year. She made 25 consecutive free throws before a miss vs. Texas A&M broke the string. The school record is 28. Nikki was named to the all-tournament team of the Jackson Diamond Jewelers' Cowgirl Classic, hosted by Oklahoma State.
GREGG CONTINUES SHOOTING TOUCH
Cowgirl senior Megan Gregg continues to shoot the ball well this season, as proven by her 60 percent shooting from the floor. She has connected on 57-of-95 of her shots from the field, which currently ranks as the third-best in the Big 12 Conference. Megan set a school record for juniors last season with her 58.6 shooting percentage. It was also the second-highest percentage in OSU history. Her current 59.2 career FG percentage is the best-ever at Oklahoma State. Megan was named to the all-tournament team of the Bertha Teague Memorial Classic.
FAULK SHOWS WHAT FRESHMEN CAN DO
True freshman Kara Faulk continues to impress the coaching staff, as can be seen by her 16 minutes averaged per game as a true freshman. She is fifth on the team in scoring, averaging 6.1 points per game, and is sixth on the squad with 3.9 rebounds per game. Kara recorded her first-ever double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds vs. Northwestern State in the Jackson Diamond Jewelers' Cowgirl Classic.
SMITH GETS DESERVED PLAYING TIME
True freshman Coleman Smith spent 29 minutes on the floor Saturday afternoon vs. Baylor, thanks to some fine play on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Coleman not only scored 10 points in the Cowgirls' four-point victory, but she also limited Baylor's trio of forwards to just five points for the game, 13 points below their combined season average. For her efforts, Smith was nominated by OSU for the Big 12 Conference's Rookie-of-the-Week honor.
STUBER COMING INTO OWN
Redshirt freshman Mandy Stuber has shown what she's capable of doing, despite her limited playing time. In just 9.4 minutes per game, she is averaging 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. She has eight assists, five blocks and eight steals in 11 games. The 6-2 guard has the ability to play any of the five positions, and is able to post up or shoot the three pointer.
