Women's Golfer Boden Named Second-Team All-American

STILLWATER, Okla. - Following a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships, Oklahoma State sophomore Maria Boden was named second-team All-American by the National Golf Coaches Association. She becomes just the 11th Cowgirl to earn the honor.
Being named All-American highlights an exceptional season in which the Sweden native was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Year and won the 1999 Big 12 Golf Championships. Boden also led OSU to the Big 12 team title, its first conference championship since 1996.
Boden's 12th-place finish at the NCAA's last week earned her medalist honors, and she was the first Cowgirl to finish in the top 15 since Stephanie Martin finished ninth in 1992.
Also at the banquet, OSU coach Ann Pitts was named the West Region Coach of the Year, the fourth time she has received that particular accolade. She was also named the top coach in the region in 1987, '89 and 1992.
