LAST TIME
Cowgirl freshman Kara Faulk scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down seven boards as the Cowgirls overcame an 11-point deficit to defeat the ORU Golden Eagles, 66-58, last Tuesday night at the Mabee Center. Faulk scored 10 points in the second half on 4-of-5 shooting. Sophomore center Devon Magness, who started the second half on the bench, shot 4-of-4 from the field in the second half for 12 points of her own. The Cowgirls shot 51.6 percent from the field in the second half while limiting the Golden Eagles to just 36.7 percent. OSU still trailed until the 3:12 mark of the game when a free throw by Jennifer Crow put OSU ahead, 57-56. OSU went on a 10-2 run over the final three minutes of the game for the final score.
COWGIRL NOTE-ABLE
Senior guard Kourtney Bower currently has seven assists and no turnovers in the first two games of the season ... OSU has five players shooting better than 80.0 percent from the line ... Several of OSU's current players will move up the Cowgirl career charts this season. Jennifer Crow, just starting her third year in an OSU uniform, is currently tied for fourth on the three-pointers made list with 92. She is also 11th on the free-throws made list with 242. Bower ranks 14th on the career three-pointers made list with 34, and sophomore Devon Magness is already 13th on the career blocked-shots list with 30 ... Oklahoma State has received votes in both the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll and the Women's Basketball News Service ... The Cowgirls will play 12 teams this season that are currently receiving votes in the USA Today/Coaches' Poll.
CROW PICKS UP WHERE SHE LEFT OFF
Cowgirl junior Jennifer Crow started the 1998-99 season right where she ended last year, leading the team. Crow's 23 points vs. SMU led the game and were the most by a Cowgirl since she scored a career-high 25 points vs. Nebraska in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament last season. Her 10 rebounds in the game vs. SMU were a career high. Jennifer has scored in double figures in 37 of her 60 career games, and has scored at least 20 points in six games.
FAULK SHOWS WHAT FRESHMEN CAN DO
Cowgirl freshman Kara Faulk lifted the Cowgirls to a 66-58 win last week over the ORU Golden Eagles. In the game, she scored 16 points and pulled down seven boards, both team highs. As a true freshman, Faulk is third on the squad in both points (9.5) and rebounds (6.0) per game after two contests. She is also shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and 80.0 percent from the FT line.
