STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowboy tennis team improved their conference record to 6-2 as they defeated the Oklahoma Sooners 8-0 at the DuBois Tennis Complex Tuesday afternoon.
Oklahoma State (15-3) swept the Sooners, winning all eight matches before the match between Martin Dvoracek and Charlie Roberson was suspended due to rain. This was only the third time this season that the Cowboys have swept every match in dual play. The match will be completed in Lincoln, Neb. before the Big 12 tournament. Roberson was leading 7-5, 3-6, 5-3 before the delay.
"We beat OU 8-0," head coach James Wadley said. "We won all of the doubles and all of the singles that finished, so that was good. I was proud of our team's performance."
Top-ranked Pavel Kudrnac improved his record to 26-3 in singles as he defeated Adam Neal 6-2, 6-3. The doubles tandem of Kudrnac and Dvoracek also improved their record to 23-4 with a win over Clinton Alford and Dusty Beard.
The Cowboys will finish out their homestand with Nebraska on Friday and Colorado on Saturday. Both matches will be played at the DuBois Tennis Complex. Start time for both matches is set for 2 p.m.
