TULSA, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's Cowboy tennis team advanced to the finals of the NCAA Region V Championships with a 4-0 win over the University of Tulsa on Saturday.
Oklahoma State (17-5) won three singles matches and two doubles matches in the victory. With Tulsa (15-12) up 7-4 in the No. 1 doubles match between second-ranked Pavel Kudrnac and Martin Dvoracek and Tulsa's 13th-ranked Gareth Williams and Louie Pranic, OSU won at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions to secure the doubles point. Fourth-ranked Kudrnac then defeated Tulsa's 51st-ranked Nenad Toroman 6-3, 6-3 in the top singles position. With Tulsa leading at the No. 2 and No. 3, the Cowboys wrapped up the victory by winning the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots to clinch the win.
Oklahoma State will face top-seeded California Sunday at noon in the championship game.
