STILLWATER, Okla. - A limited number of general-admission tickets may be made available for the Oklahoma State-TCU men's basketball game Saturday, the OSU athletic ticket office announced today.
The tickets would be made available beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Gallagher-Iba Arena ticket office so that as many fans as possible can see the 13th-ranked Cowboys host the Horned Frogs, who are led by former Oklahoma coach Billy Tubbs. Ticket availability is strictly subject to the number of student season-ticket holders who attend the game.
"This might be the toughest test we've had during our 79-game home non-conference winning streak," said OSU Coach Eddie Sutton. "TCU has an outstanding ballclub, and I know our fans will want to welcome Billy back to Gallagher-Iba Arena. We want every seat filled with enthusiastic Cowboys fans."
TCU, which began the season ranked in both major polls, will no doubt be looking for revenge after OSU defeated the Horned Frogs 82-81 in a thrilling game in Fort Worth last season.
Contrary to published reports and television listings, the game will tip off at 7:05 p.m. and will not be televised. Because a regional cable network released an alternate start time and included the game in its schedule, media outlets are encouraged to report the correct tipoff time and remind fans that the game will not be shown on live television of any kind.
Due to the Cowgirl Classic women's basketball tournament, which will be played Saturday afternoon, the doors to the arena may open later than usual.
OSU is 3-0 after opening its season last week with a home victory over Northwestern State and wins over Marquette and Hawaii in Honolulu. After the TCU game, the Cowboys will host Florida Atlantic on Tuesday evening at 7:05 before traveling to Anaheim, Calif., for the Dec. 5 John Wooden Classic matchup with UCLA.
