WACO, Texas (AP) - Desmond Mason had 32 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 23 Oklahoma State to a 76-63 victory over Baylor on Saturday night.
Oklahoma State (11-3, 3-0 Big 12) won its fifth straight game and snapped a two-game losing streak at Waco. Baylor (6-10, 0-3) has lost three in a row, including the last two without leading scorer and point guard Tevis Stukes, who quit the team earlier in the week.
Baylor built a 28-19 lead before the Cowboys rallied behind Mason.
Oklahoma State used a 22-4 run over the final 6:22 of the half to take a 41-32 halftime lead. Mason, who finished 12-of-18 from the field, keyed the run with nine points.
The Cowboys made 12 of 14 free throws in the first half, including 7-of-8 over the final 1:22.
Oklahoma State's Adrian Peterson, the Big 12's leading scorer who came in averaging 19.6 points per game, was held to a season-low 10 on 3-of-11 shooting.
The Cowboys extended their lead to 66-49 with 9:09 left in the game, but went scoreless over the next 4:20. But Baylor, which had held No. 18 Kansas to just 11 points over the final 13 minutes of a 66-62 loss on Wednesday, again could not capitalize on its good defense.
The Bears scored just five points during that stretch and didn't cut the lead under 10 until Kish Lewis' 3-pointer with 1:04 left made it 70-61. Lewis led Baylor with 19 points and Leon Morris added 17.
Alex Webber had 12 points and seven boards for Oklahoma State, which outrebounded Baylor 40-28.
Baylor made 17 of 19 foul shots. After its strong start at the line, Oklahoma State finished 17-of-27.
