STILLWATER, Okla. - Jason Keep, a center out of North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, has signed a letter of intent with the Oklahoma State men's basketball team, the Cowboys announced today.
Keep, a 6-11, 290-pound native of Moscow, Idaho, averaged 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots for North Idaho in 1998-99, his freshman season. He will have three years of eligibility at OSU.
"Jason will make a welcome addition to our front line," said OSU head coach Eddie Sutton. "He has great hands and is a very physical low-post player. We're excited to have him join our program."
Keep's freshman highlight was a 31-point outing against the Southern Idaho; he hit 14 of 17 field-goal attempts in the game.
"Jason was a highly recruited player; has grown a lot this year, both physically and mentally," said North Idaho coach Hugh Watson. "He has great hands and runs the floor adequately. He can score, and he's getting better defensively. With Coach Sutton's coaching, he has the chance to be a big-time player."
Keep is OSU's first signee in the spring period; the Cowboys added one player during the November signing period. Oklahoma State has two available scholarships remaining.
