Cowgirls Fall to Texas, 75-53

AUSTIN, Texas- Oklahoma State's Jennifer Crow scored a game-high 21 points, but the Cowgirls fell for the third straight game as OSU lost to Texas, 75-53, Wednesday night before 5,110 fans at the Frank Erwin Center.
Oklahoma State trailed by just one at halftime, 31-30, and went ahead to start the second half on a jumper by freshman Coleman Smith. But Texas regained the lead at the 16:17 mark and went on a 19-2 run over the next nine minutes to pull away.
Smith, who started her second consecutive game, was the only other Cowgirl in double figures with 10. Fellow freshman Kara Faulk led all players with 10 rebounds and scored eight points from the free-throw line.
In the first half, OSU got 13 points from Crow on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor. Smith led with six rebounds and had eight points at the break. The Cowgirls shot just 35 percent, but limited Texas to just 34 percent from the floor. UT was just 8-of-25 inside the three-point line.
Oklahoma State (10-5 overall, 2-3 Big 12) returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 23, as the Cowgirls travle to College Station, Texas, to face the Texas A&M Lady Aggies. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
