Cowgirls Fall to Missouri, 73-62

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Oklahoma State's Jennifer Crow scored a game-high 19 points and Megan Gregg added 15, but OSU fell to the Missouri Tigers, 73-62, here Sunday afternoon before 1,821 fans at the Hearnes Center.
The Missouri trio of Amy Monsees, Kesha Bonds and Julie Helm scored 19, 18 and 17 points, respectively. Bonds also pulled down 14 boards for the 35th double- double of her career. Oklahoma State had just 20 rebounds as a team, with Gregg earning team honors with five.
The Cowgirls trailed by as many as eight midway through the first half as Missouri went up, 18-10, on a layup by Bonds. But, OSU fought back, going up by one at 23-22 with 5:44 remaining. MU went on a 13-4 run over the final minutes of the first half and led, 35-27, at halftime.
Up by 16 points on two occasions in the second half, Missouri appeared to have the game in hand. Oklahoma State cut into the lead and got within eight twice, the last time at the 2:10 mark of the game. But, eight consecutive free throws by the Tigers clinched the win.
Starting a practically new lineup, Coach Dick Halterman got just 10 points out of the new starters. Kourtney Bower came off the bench for the first time this season, and had six assists and just two turnovers. Jessica Spinner and Nikki Harmon each had eight for OSU.
Oklahoma State (12-12 overall, 4-10 Big 12) dropped into a tie for 10th in the Big 12 standings with Missouri (11-13, 4-10). MU would hold the tiebreaker over OSU should the two teams be tied at the end of the season for seeding purposes. The Cowgirls will host the Kansas Jayhawks on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
