Cowgirl Golf Seventh after First Round

HOUSTON, Texas - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl golf team, ranked seventh in the latest edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, is in seventh place after the first round of the NCAA West Regional here at the Pine Forest Country Club. Sophomore Maria Bodn shot a one-over-par 73 on the day, placing her seventh individually.
Stanford leads the team race with four golfers in the top 13. Arizona State and USC are tied for second, seven strokes behind the Cardinal with an 11-over 299. Arizona and New Mexico State are tied for fourth to round out the top five.
The Cowgirls are five strokes behind Oregon, which sits in sixth place with a 302. OSU is at 307, while TCU and Texas are tied for eighth with a 308. Pepperdine is 10th at 310.
Arizonas Jenna Daniels shot a two-under 70 to step to the top of the individual leaderboard. OSU freshman Emma Zackrisson is tied for 18th with a three-over 75, while senior Lotta Stromlid is tied for 31st with a 77. JoJo Robertson shot a 10-over 82, while Natasha Rowe finished with a 17-over 89.
The tournament will continue on Friday morning with a round of 18 holes, and conclude on Saturday with a final round of 18. Results for the entire regional can be found at sports.tamu.edu/westregional/.
