Cowgirl Basketball to Play in Preseason WNIT

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl basketball team has accepted an invitation to play in the preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament, it was announced today. The Cowgirls will host the Northern Iowa Panthers in the first round on Mon., Nov. 15.
The single-elimination tournament will be comprised of 16 teams, including nine that made the NCAA Tournament last season. Georgia and Duke, both Final Four participants this past March, will also host first-round games.
Other teams competing are UNC-Greensboro, Boston College, Maine, Alabama-Birmingham, Liberty, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan, Illinois, UNLV, UC-Santa Barbara, St. Mary's (Calif.) and TCU.
Round-two games will be held on Wed., Nov. 17, followed by semifinals and finals on Nov. 21-22, which will be held at a home site of one of the final four teams.
The tournament is hosted by the Women's Collegiate Sports Association, and will be managed by Triple Crown Sports out of Ft. Collins, Colo.
