STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State Cowgirl basketball today announced the signing of Timeka Beason, a 6-1 post player from Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland, Texas. Beason becomes the third player to sign with OSU for next season.
I chose Oklahoma State primarily because it is a Division I school, said Beason. I felt really comfortable with the players and coaching staff when I made my visit, and they made me feel at home.
The 6-1 post player averaged 21.5 points, 16.1 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game last season for the Class 5A school. For her efforts, Beason was named First Team all-district.
Timeka definitely will be one of the most athletic kids that we've ever had in our program, said OSU Associate Head Coach Jack Easley. She's a very good rebounder. I attribute that to the fact that she's a temendous athlete and a quick jumper. Her offensive skills are a bit raw, but that's something that she will excell in over time.
