COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Desmond Mason scored 24 points, including eight of Oklahoma State's last 11 in the game, and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the 23rd-ranked Cowboys past Texas A&M 64-59 Wednesday night.
The Cowboys (10-3, 2-0 Big 12) won with quickness as the Aggies had trouble keeping up with Mason, Adrian Peterson, who had 14 points, and Joe Adkins, who had 12.
Oklahoma State led virtually all the way but never were able to break away from the Aggies.
Texas A&M (7-5, 0-2) trailed 29-26 at halftime but opened the second half by hitting four consecutive 3-pointers - three by Clifton Cook - to take a 35-33 lead with 18:26 to go.
The Cowboys responded with an 8-3 run that gave them the lead for good with 14:15 left. Texas A&M never trailed by more than six points down the stretch but never again pulled even.
Cook finished with 25 points and eight rebounds for the Aggies, while Shanne Jones added 11 points.
