STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Adrian Peterson and Desmond Mason each scored 27 points as No. 18 Oklahoma State routed Houston Baptist 114-62 Tuesday night.
Glendon Alexander, playing just his second game since becoming eligible after transferring from Arkansas, added 19 points for Oklahoma State.
The Cowboys (6-2) raced to a 27-3 lead, were ahead 67-36 at halftime and stretched their advantage to 95-45 with 8:30 left. Their biggest lead was 111-54 in the final minutes.
Houston Baptist (8-4), ranked 16th in the NAIA poll, made just one field goal in the first seven minutes. The Huskies missed 11 of their first 12 shots, while Oklahoma State made 11 of its first 18 shots.
Gabe Rapier led Houston Baptist with 16 points.
Oklahoma State shot 60 percent from the field, while Houston Baptist made only 34 percent. The Cowboys were 8-of-16 on 3-point shots, compared to 8-of-25 for Houston Baptist.
Oklahoma State also forced Houston Baptist into 23 turnovers. Mason finished with eight steals and Joe Adkins had 12 assists.
The Cowboys were 26-of-31 from the foul line, while the Huskies were 8-of-11.
