Tari Cummings scored a career-high 28 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds, but the Cowgirls still fell short in an 86-81 loss to the Wichita State Shockers. OSU started the game off strong, leading by as many as eight points midway through the first half, 18-10. But, the two teams see-sawed into a 31-31 tie with 1:46 remaining in the period. WSU went on a 10-0 run over that span, including a three pointer from LaTeesha Hill at the buzzer, to go into the lockerroom at 41-31. The Cowgirls started out strong the second half as well, cutting the lead to five just 1-1/2 minutes in. Four consecutive treys, three by the Shockers, put WSU up by 14, and Wichita State went up by as many as 22 with 8:30 remaining. Oklahoma State made a 12-0 run over the next four minutes, cutting the lead back to 10 at 70-60. Over the final 4:07, WSU went to the free-throw line 20 times, connecting on 16. Meanwhile, the Cowgirls made seven shots from the field, but missed three crucial free throws in the final 3-1/2 minutes.
