Cowboys Finish Strong At Hurricane Invitational

TULSA, Okla. - The Oklahoma State Tennis team concluded play in the seventh annual Hurricane Invitational by taking five out of nine matches from the Kansas Jayhawks on Sunday.
Matt Prentice, Chris Bates and Fran Krepelka swept the "A" Flight for the Cowboys. All three players posted straight set decisions. However, the Jayhawks returned the favor in "B" Flight competition,sweeping all three matches from the Cowboys.
In doubles action, Prentice and Bates teamed to defeat KU's Bryan Maier and Quentin Blakeney, 9-8 (7-3). Krepelka and Jeremy Ewert then knocked off Sebastian Libertino and Ed Dus by an 8-5 count. The Jayhawks bounced back with an 8-6 win over OSU's Jochen Geiger and Matt Streeter.
Prentice, Bates and Krepelka return to action this weekend at the ITA All-American Championships at the University of Texas in Austin.
