High School: Played wide receiver and cornerback for coach Matt Turner at Gilmer, finishing his high school career with 2,108 receiving yards, 23 receiving touchdowns, 72 tackles, 12 pass break ups and two interceptions … As a senior he finished with 1,368 yards and 15 touchdowns on 67 receptions and was the leading receiver on a team that finished 13-2 and reached the state semifinals … Also had 32 tackles and five pass break ups on defense … Named to the Texas APSE Class 4A all-state second team as a senior … Junior season numbers included 589 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 34 catches while making 18 tackles, six pass break ups and two interceptions on defense … Caught eight passes for 151 yards and a touchdown and made 22 tackles and one pass break up as a sophomore … The Buckeyes had a record of 43-3 during his time on the varsity team, with a state championship his sophomore year and state semifinal appearances his junior and senior years … Chose Oklahoma State over reported offers from Texas Tech, Indiana, Houston, Memphis, Tulsa, Louisiana Tech, Colorado State, UTSA and others.
