2017 Vernon Grant Award (Outstanding Leadership, Spirit and Enthusiasm)
A regular contributor who is in line to be one of OSU’s top defensive players going into 2018.
2017 (Junior): Honored by the Oklahoma State coaching staff with the Vernon Grant Award for outstanding leadership, spirit and enthusiasm ... Started every game with the exception of the final three against Kansas State, Kansas and Virginia Tech, which he missed due to injury ... Was one of OSU’s four captains against Baylor and on the road at Iowa State ... Recorded 26 tackles, including 17 solo stops ... Racked up a career-high eight tackles, five of which were solo stops, against TCU on Sept. 23 ... Followed his career day with another five tackles the following week at Texas Tech ... Logged five tackles for loss in 2017 ... Tallied the second half-sack of his career against Oklahoma ... Credited with two quarterback hurries and two pass breakups.
2016 (Sophomore): Saw action in all 13 games ... His 15 tackles ranked third among OSU’s interior defensive linemen ... Had nine solo stops, one pass break up and one quarterback hurry ... 2015 (Freshman): OSU coaches awarded him the Russell Okung Award for the team’s outstanding newcomer ... Played in every game as a true freshman, recording 16 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss ... Had a half-sack and quarterback hurry in his first collegiate game at Central Michigan ... Finished the regular season third among OSU’s interior linemen with 11 solo stops ... Had tackles for loss vs. TCU, UTSA and Central Michigan.
