Marta Silchenko selected to 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup
May 04, 2026 | Cowgirl Golf
STILLWATER – The Arnold Palmer Cup announced the rosters for its 2026 tournament on Tuesday, with Oklahoma State golfer Marta Silchenko earning a Coach's Pick selection to Team International.
Set for July 3-5 at Tralee Golf Club in Ireland, the Arnold Palmer Cup is the world's premier amateur team championship. This year marks the tournament's 30th anniversary since it was established in 1997 by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Silchenko is the first-ever Latvian golfer to be selected to the Cup. She will join 11 of the best internationally born amateur women golfers and 12 of their male counterparts on the defending champion Team International.
The tournament is a three-day event and features mixed four-ball matches on the first, mixed foursomes on the second, and singles matches on the third and final day. Each match is worth a point (half a point for ties), with 60 total points available. Team International defeated Team USA, 35-25, last year, but Team USA leads the all-time series, 15-13-1.
A native of Riga, Latvia, Silchenko solidified herself as a steady starter in the Oklahoma State lineup over her first two seasons before breaking out as one of the nation's premier golfers in 2026. This season, Silchenko climbed to No. 28 in the NCAA Division I Individual Rankings and No. 61 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, both career-highs.
Silchenko leads Oklahoma State in stroke average (71.35), average scoring vs. par (+0.1), rounds in the 60s (10), rounds at par-or-better (14) and top-10 finishes (7). All are single-season bests for the third-year Cowgirl, who holds a remarkable 595-85-24 (.862) record heading into the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional next week.
Silchenko has already received several awards for her 2025-26 campaign, including a First Team All-Big 12 selection, Big 12 Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year honors and a spot on the All-Big 12 Tournament Team. Silchenko was also named Big 12 Golfer of the Week on April 8 and was runner-up for the conference's Golfer of the Year award.
The selection marks the fourth by a Cowgirl golfer since the tournament expanded to include women in 2018, as Silchenko joins Maja Stark (2020), Isabella Fierro (2021) and Maddison Hinson-Tolchard (2023). Additionally, Cowgirl Golf associate head coach Daniel Park served as an assistant coach for Team International in 2025.
Silchenko and the Cowgirls continue their 2025-26 season next Monday at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, with a trip to the NCAA Championship on the line. For more information on the Arnold Palmer Cup, visit https://www.arnoldpalmercup.com.
