STILLWATER – The No. 16/13 Oklahoma State softball team fell to Kansas, 10-1, in five innings on Saturday afternoon inside Cowgirl Stadium.

The loss drops the Cowgirls to 36-14 overall and 15-8 in Big 12 play, while Kansas improves to 34-17 and 14-9.

Kansas scored in every inning but the fifth, including a five-run first inning to open the game. The Jayhawks blew the game open with a three-run third inning to extend their lead to 9-1.

OSU's lone run came in the bottom of the first inning when Rosie Davis notched her 12th home run of the year, which elevates her into a tie for sixth on OSU's career home run list (29, tied with Micaela Wark, Alysen Febrey and Chyenne Factor).

Preslee Downing (5-1) started in the circle for the Pokes and received the first loss of her collegiate career. RyLee Crandall came in for relief in the first inning and finished the game. Lila Partridge (9-3) got the start for the Jayhawks and pitched a complete game on the way to her ninth win of the season.

The rubber match and final game of the regular season will be at 1 p.m. CT tomorrow at Cowgirl Stadium. The Cowgirls will honor their eight seniors postgame as part of Senior Day.
