Cowgirls Secure Nation’s Top-Ranked Transfer
April 20, 2026 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team continued its impressive talent haul with the addition of the No. 1 ranked transfer in the country, All-American Audi Crooks, it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.
Crooks earned top billing from the likes of CBSSports.com, ESPN.com, NBCSports.com, USA Today and Yahoo Sports.
"We are thrilled with the addition of Audi. She has been one of the country's most dominant scorers the last few years and to think she will be in a Cowgirl uniform feels surreal. She has elite size and strength paired with elite hands and touch that allow her to be an automatic bucket around the rim. The last three years I've watched team after team strategize and game plan around stopping her and almost all have failed miserably," Hoyt said.
"Getting to know Audi in the recruiting process was truly a joy. She has the personality and intangibles that make you love her and want to root for her immediately. I know she will immediately become a fan favorite and fit right in to Stillwater. She is incredibly motivated in her senior year to evolve and expand her game. She came here to grow and just like some of her teammates who stayed or came from the portal, she has courage to blaze her own path and pursue what can be a historical season for us."
A 6-3 center, Crooks enjoyed a decorated three-year run at Iowa State that saw her earn second-team All-America status as a junior this past season from the Associated Press, U.S. Basketball Writers Association and The Sporting News. She was named a third-team pick by the AP and USBWA in 2025.
During her time in Ames, she received unanimous first-team All-Big 12 honors three times. Crooks ranks second in Cyclone history with her 2,256 points, first with her 22.8 points per game and second with her 907 made field goals.
In each of the past two seasons, Crooks was named to the Wooden Award Late Season Watch List, the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team, a Lisa Leslie Award Top Five Finalist, the Naismith Trophy Watch List, the Wooden Award Watch List and the WBCA Wade Trophy Watch List.
A native of Algona, Iowa, Crooks started all 31 games in which she played this past year, finishing the campaign as the second-leading scorer in the country with her 25.8 points per game. She connected on 64.9 percent of her shots from the floor, the second-best percentage nationally, and averaged 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game as well.
Her 801 points on the year are the second-best total in Iowa State history, second only to the 820 points she amassed during the 2024-25 season.
Additionally, Crooks logged 12 double-doubles on the year and now has 30 through her first three collegiate seasons.
As a sophomore, Crooks was the Big 12's leading scorer with her 23.4 points per outing, scoring in double figures in all 35 contests on the year. She became the fastest Iowa State player and third-fastest Big 12 player to reach 1,000 career points, doing so in her 49th career game.
Crooks burst onto the scene in 2023-24 with a record-breaking freshman campaign that saw her earn honorable mention AP All-America status. She was Iowa State's first freshman to earn first-team all-conference status after averaging 19.2 points per game and shooting 57.7 percent from the floor.
She delivered a historic postseason performance, pouring in 40 points in the Cyclones' first-round NCAA victory over Maryland. In that contest, Crooks made 18 of her 20 shots from the floor to become just the second college basketball player, joining UCLA's Bill Walton in 1973, to score at least 40 points while shooting 90 percent or better from the four in an NCAA Tournament game.
As a prep standout, Crooks checked in at No. 57 on the 2023 ESPNW HoopGurlz top 100 list and was a two-time Class 1A state champion at Bishop Garrigan High School. In addition to starring on the hardwood, she competed in volleyball and was a two-time shot put state champion.
