Timm’s multi-home run game propels No. 19/12 OSU past Missouri State
March 03, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Claire Timm hit two home runs, including a three-run shot in the sixth inning, to power the No. 19/12 Oklahoma State softball team to an 8-3 win over Missouri State on Tuesday night.
Oklahoma State improved to 16-5, entering its conference opener later in the week, while Missouri State dropped to 11-8.
After back-to-back home runs in the first inning from the Bears, Timm smashed her first home run of the evening to cut the lead in half in the following frame. Missouri State restored its two-run lead in the top of the third before the Cowgirls tied it up at three apiece in the bottom half of the inning following an RBI sacrifice fly from Amanda Hasler and an RBI single from Karli Godwin.
The score remained tied until the bottom of the sixth. Jayden Jones delivered the go-ahead hit with a double to left field that drove in two runs and gave the Cowgirls a 5-3 advantage. Four batters later, Timm connected on her second home run of the game and fifth of the season to extend the lead to 8-3 and cap the decisive rally.
Timm and Jones combined for six RBIs in the win, providing the bulk of Oklahoma State's offensive production. Tia Warsop added a multi-hit performance as the Cowgirls finished with timely hitting to pull away late and build momentum heading into conference play.
Ruby Meylan (6-4) earned the win in relief, entering in the fourth inning and shutting down Missouri State's offense the rest of the way. She allowed three hits over four scoreless innings, striking out six and keeping the Bears from regaining momentum.
Emily Koranda (5-3) took the loss for Missouri State. She relieved Brylee Brewster in the third inning and pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing the Cowgirls to build separation late.
OSU will be back in action at 6 p.m. on March 6 against UCF at Cowgirl Stadium. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+.
