Cowgirl Tennis Dominates West Virginia in Conference Opener

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's No. 26 ranked women's tennis team dominated West Virginia, 6-1, Friday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
OSU improved to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play, snapping a two-match losing streak. The win also marked the first home win of season and makes it 11-0 all-time against West Virginia.
Oklahoma State got on the board first by taking the doubles point for the sixth time this season. OSU forfeited court three to due player availability.
To begin, Olivia Lincer and Luca Udvardy swept Lyla Byers and Audrey Moutama, 6-0. No. 24 Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp defeated Lucia Tognoni and Villaneuva Morillo, 6-2, to secure the point. Komar and Nijkamp are now 5-1 in doubles this season.
Singles play saw five points go to Oklahoma State, with court six being forfeited due to player availability. No. 24 Nijkamp secured the first point beating Julie Bousseau, 6-1, 6-3. The next point for the Cowgirls came from Udvardy, defeating Sazana Kudlackova, 6-1, 6-3. Udvardy has now won four-consecutive matches.
The clinching point came when Komar bested Morillo, 6-1, 7-5. This marked the first singles win for Komar this season. Courts five and one were played out as Ercan defeated Byers, 6-1, 6-4, on court five, while No. 40 Lincer defeated Moutama 6-3, 6-2.
The Cowgirls continue their weekend as they host Cincinnati at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
