February 22, 2026 | Cowboy Baseball
PHOENIX – Oklahoma State clinched a series win over Grand Canyon with a 13-2 run-rule victory in seven innings in Sunday's finale at GCU Ballpark.
With the win, the Cowboys improved to 4-3, while GCU fell to 2-5.
Aidan Meola tied a career high with five RBIs as he went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, while Colin Brueggemann and Kollin Ritchie also homered. Brueggemann drove in four runs, while Ritchie picked up three RBIs.
OSU recorded 12 hits in the contest and reached or surpassed that mark in all four games of the series. Four Cowboys had multiple hits in the finale, led by Alex Conover's three.
Ethan Lund recorded the first win of his career as the southpaw worked five innings and allowed two runs on two hits while posting six strikeouts.
The Cowboys jumped out to a big lead thanks to a two-out rally in their first at bat as they batted around in the inning. Meola got things started with the first of five consecutive OSU hits, an RBI single that plated Brock Thompson from first base.
Following an infield single by Norman, Brueggemann smashed a three-run home run to center field, his first round tripper of the season. Terrance Bowen then singled and stole second base before Conover brought him home with a single to make the score 5-0.
GCU got on the board in the third compliments of a solo homer by Billy Scaldeferri to cut its deficit to four.
Meola's big day continued in the fourth as he stepped to the plate with the bases full of Cowboys and launched a pitch over the wall in left field to give OSU a 9-1 advantage.
An RBI double by Brueggemann in the sixth accounted for OSU's 10th run, and Ritchie launched a three-run homer to center field in the seventh to cap the scoring. The round tripper was Ritchie's team-leading fifth of the season.
OSU returns to action Tuesday for its home opener at O'Brate Stadium. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
