Cowboy Baseball Cruises To Fourth-Straight Win
February 24, 2026 | Cowboy Baseball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's winning streak reached four Tuesday as the Cowboys run-ruled Central Arkansas, 14-3, in seven innings in their home opener at O'Brate Stadium.
With the win, the Pokes improved to 5-3, while UCA dropped to 5-4.
The 14-run performance from the OSU lineup marks the fourth time in the last six games that the Cowboys have reached double digits.
Aidan Meola and Kollin Ritchie both homered, with Ritchie tallying a game-high three RBIs. Meola has now gone deep in five consecutive games.
TP Wentworth earned his first-career win in a predetermined two inning start. The southpaw allowed one run on two hits while striking out two and walking a pair.
Coming out of the bullpen to help secure the win were Mario Pesca, Kai Fyke, Zane Burns and Stormy Rhodes.
The Bears got the scoring started in the first inning on a pair of hits. Nate Negre hit a double into the left-center field gap and would come in to score on a two-out single by Landon Carter.
OSU responded in the bottom of the inning, which began with Alex Conover reaching base on an error. Ritchie then hit his Big 12-leading sixth home run of the season to put the Cowboys on top, 2-1.
Wentworth worked a scoreless second inning, and the Cowboy offense tacked on another run courtesy of a Brock Thompson two-out RBI single.
Pesca took the mound to start the third inning and worked a scoreless frame that included a pair of strikeouts.
With two outs and nobody on base in the bottom of the third, Campbell Smithwick created a rally with his legs. He beat out a slow dribbler to first and went on to steal second base. After a Terrance Bowen walk, Danny Wallace brought Smithwick in with a single to left field to make it a 4-1 game.
Fyke entered for the Pokes in the fourth and surrendered a run on a walk, hit and sacrifice fly off the bat of Jagger Schattle.
The Cowboy offense more than made up for the run given up, putting up a 10 spot in the bottom of the fourth.
After loading the bases without recording a hit, Thompson reached on an error, Ritchie walked and Meola was hit by a pitch. Colin Brueggemann brought in the first run on an RBI groundout and then the flood gates opened.
Sebastian Norman scorched a 113 mph single up the middle to plate two and was followed by RBI doubles from Wallace, Conover and Ritchie. The inning was capped with a long blast off the bat of Meola, the reigning Big 12 Player of the Week.
The 10-run onslaught marked the first double-digit scoring frame for the Pokes since May 17, 2024 against Houston.
The Bears scored another run off Fyke in the fifth to make it a 14-3 game.
Burns worked the sixth inning and struck out a pair while issuing a walk before Rhodes entered to close out the seventh inning and fanned one.
OSU continues its homestand with a three-game series against Sam Houston beginning Friday. The opener is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
