Opening Tips:
- It's a BLACKOUT inside Gallagher-Iba Arena as the Oklahoma State Cowboys play host to the eighth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks. Fans are encouraged to dress accordingly.
- Reserved your seat today at okstate.com/tickets.
- OSU is in search of its 14th home win of the season (most since 2017-18) and what would be its signature win to date in the Steve Lutz era. Last February, the Cowboys knocked off No. 9 Iowa State in Stillwater.
- Lutz has helped rekindle some of the rowdy in GIA a with a 26-7 home mark in two seasons (13-3 this year).
- The Cowboys are 2-1 against nationally-ranked visitors this season, having previously knocked off No. 25 UCF (Jan. 6) and No. 16 BYU (Feb. 4).
- OSU is looking to avoid back-to-back home losses for the first time under Lutz after falling 95-92 in overtime to visiting TCU on Saturday. Parsa Fallah scored a season-high 27 points, including a buzzer-beating putback to force overtime, but the Cowboys missed another potential game-tying three-pointer at the end of the extra period.
- The Cowboys are 10-9 all-time against former Poke Bill Self inside GIA (8-9 in his KU tenure).
- OSU is averaging 84.7 points per game (third in the Big 12 and 26th nationally). That number jumps to 90.8 on the white maple.
- The Cowboys have scored at least 81 points in all 16 victories this season. With a win over KU, they would match their 2024-25 victory total (17-18).
- OSU has topped the 90-point mark 10 times -- two shy of the program record set in 2016-17.
- Six Cowboys average at least 9.0 points, led by Anthony Roy (17.6 ppg). The senior ranks among the nation's best three-point shooters by both volume (15th, 3.36) and accuracy (28rd, .423), and his streak of 21-straight games with a triple is one of the eight longest in OSU history.
- Fallah (13.6 ppg) is the team's top rebounder at 6.2 per game and his .610 shooting percentage is the Big 12's second-highest.
- As of Monday, 54 D1 players are averaging 4.0+ assists with a 2.5+ A:TO ratio. OSU guards Kanye Clary (5.1, 2.56) and Jaylen Curry (4.3, 2.88) are one of two sets of teammates, joined by Houston's Milos Uzan and Kingston Flemings.
- Clary and Curry key one the nation's most aggressive attacks (10th in adjusted tempo).
- Clary has posted more assists than turnovers in each of his last 22 games -- one shy of Doug Gottlieb's OSU record, set 27 years ago.
- In BIg 12 play, Curry is averaging a league-best 2.86 steals-per-40-minutes.

Last Time on Cowboy Basketball:
Saturday, Feb. 14 in Stillwater | TCU 95, OSU 92 (ot)
- OSU's first prayer was answered but not the second in a 95-92 loss to TCU.
- Parsa Fallah scored 27 points and tied the game at the end of regulation, puting back a missed three-pointer as time expired.
- A similar scenario played out in overtime with TCU up three points in the final seconds. The Frogs collapsed on Anthony Roy, leaving Jaylen Curry to hoist a contested three at the horn that missed the mark.
- Roy finished with 14 points and four threes, while Kanye Clary added 13 points and nine assists before fouling out late in regulation.
- David Punch scored 17 of his 19 points after halftime for TCU, which improved to 6-6 in Big 12 play after a 1-4 start.
- OSU shot 51% to TCU's 45%, but the visitors made 12-of-25 threes and committed just eight turnovers in 45 minutes.
Â
TCU Leftovers:
- Game No. 60 of the Steve Lutz era was the first to reach overtime. OSU's last came Feb. 24, 2024 against Oklahoma -- a span of 721 days. It was the Big 12's longest drought and one of the 10-longest nationally.
- OSU has now dropped eight consecutive OT games, last winning Feb. 19, 2022 vs. K-State.
- OSU lost for the first time under Lutz when scoring at least 81 points. Prior to Saturday, the Cowboys were 26-0 (16-0 this season) when reaching that mark. They're 0-8 this season when falling short of that mark.
- The Cowboys averaged 1.21 points per possession against the Horned Frogs -- their fourth most efficient scoring game this season and second-best in Big 12 play (1.29 vs. Bethune-Cookman and 1.27 vs. BYU).
- TCU's 1.25 points per possession were one of the three-best by an OSU opponent this season (1.38 vs. Baylor and 1.34 at Texas Tech).
- The Cowboys matched a season-high with 20 assists. Guards Kanye Clary (9) and Jaylen Curry (4) combined for 13 of them, marking the ninth time this season that the duo have produced double-digit dimes.
- Parsa Fallah logged his sixth 20-point game of the year and the 17th of his collegiate career. He also matched a season-high with 10 field goals.
- Anthony Roy has a team-best 21 double-figure scoring games. Iowa State (7 on Jan. 24) is the only team to hold him to single-digits.
- Roy's 38:00 were the most by a Cowboy this season.
- OSU has dropped three straight games for only the second time under Steve Lutz. In January 2025, the Cowboys lost three straight Big 12 contests against Arizona, Texas Tech and Kansas State.
- Over this three game losing streak, the Cowboys have led for a combined total of 2 minutes, 29 seconds. Their last was a 7-6 advantage with 16:41 to play in the first half at ASU (Feb. 10).
Â
OSU vs. Nationally-Ranked Opponents
- OSU is 2-4 against AP top-25 opponents this season, including 2-1 on its home floor with victories over No. 25 UCF and No. 16 BYU.
- The Cowboys have beaten at least one AP top-25 foe in each of the last 28 seasons. The BYU victory was their 142nd all-time and 80th at home.
- An 11-point win over No. 25 UCF marked OSU's largest margin over a top-25 opponent since a 64-51 win over No. 14 Texas on Jan. 8, 2022.
- Likewise, a 99-point night vs. BYU was OSU's highest tally against a ranked team since a 101-80 win over No. 11 Memphis on Nov. 19, 2013.
Â
The Series with Kansas:
- KU holds a 126-60 series lead with eight consecutive wins.
- OSU last defeated Kansas on Jan. 12, 2021 in Stillwater (75-70) behind 18 points from Big 12 Player of the Year Cade Cunningham.
- The Cowboys are 10-9 against former Cowboy Bill Self in GIA (8-9 during his KU tenure).
- This is the only scheduled meeting between the teams in 2025-26. KU won last year's lone matchup, 96-64, in Lawrence. The Jayhawks' last Stillwater visit came in January 2024.
Â
Scouting the Jayhawks:
- KU (19-6, 9-3 Big 12) saw its eight-game winning streak snapped on Saturday at Iowa State but remains one of college basketball hottest teams. Last Monday, the Jayhawks ended Arizona's 23-0 start with an 82-78 win in Allen Fieldhouse.
- KU is No. 14 in the NCAA NET and boasts a top-10 defense, per KenPom.
- The Jayhawks rank third nationally in blocks (6.1) and fifth in field goal percentage defense (.385). Opponents have hit just under 30% of their three-point looks.
- 6-foot-10 Flory Bidunga, the nation's second leading shot blocker (2.80), also averages 14.8 points on 67% shooting along with 9.1 rebounds.
- Freshman Darryn Peterson has been one of the NCAA's best prorated performers, averaging 28.9 points-per-40-minutes (fifth nationally).
- Melvin Council Jr. (14.1 ppg, 5.1 apg, 3.10 A:TO) and Tre White (13.7 ppg) have also been reliable weapons.
Â
Matchup Mashup:
- KU head coach Bill Self played and coached at Oklahoma State. He was a four-year letterman (1981-85) and helped the Cowboys win the 1983 Big 8 tournament. Self later served as an OSU assistant under both Leonard Hamilton (1986-90) and Eddie Sutton (1990-93) before landing his first head coaching job at Oral Roberts.
- This will be the Cowboys' 41st matchup with Self as KU head coach (11-29) and 45th overall (14-30) including his time at ORU.
- Kanye Clary (5.1 apg) and Jaylen Curry (4.3) are aiming to become just the fourth OSU tandem to average 4.0+ assists over a full season. Doug Gottlieb and Joe Adkins accomplished the feat in back-to-back seasons (1998-99 and 1999-00). The only other duo? Bill Self (4.8) and Win Case (4.1) in 1984-85.
- Wednesday night, Self will be joined on the visiting bench by Win Case's son, Jeremy Case, who serves as KU's associate head coach.
- OSU assistant Dana Valentine held a similar role last season at St. Bonaventure where he helped coach Kansas guard Melvin Council.
Â
A Cowboy win would...
- Boost their home record to 14-3 (3-1 vs. nationally-ranked opponents) -- the most home wins by a Cowboy team since 2017-18.
- Be their highest-rated victim since upsetting No. 1 Baylor in Waco on Jan. 15, 2022 and their highest-ranked at home since Feb. 6, 2021 when a Cade Cunningham-led squad knocked off sixth-ranked Texas in double-overtime.
- Be their first over Kansas since Jan. 12, 2021, snapping an eight game series losing streak.
- Make them 37-41 all-time against the Jayhawks in Stillwater
- Make them 11-9 against Bill Self in Stillwater (9-9 as KU head coach).
- Be their 17th this season, matching their 2024-25 win total (17-18) with five regular season games still to play.
- Make them 27-7 at home under Lutz.
- Make them 884-271 all-time inside GIA, including 316-97 since its 2000 renovation.
Â
A Cowboy Loss Would...
- Drop them to 16-10 (4-9 Big 12).
- Give them their first four-game losing streak under Lutz.
- Make them 13-4 in GIA this season and give them back-to-back home losses for the first time under Lutz (26-8).
- Be their ninth straight series loss to Kansas.
- Make Self 10-10 all-time in GIA (10-8 with KU).
