The Basics
Oklahoma State's sixth-ranked equestrian team will host Big 12 rival TCU at 1 p.m. Friday. The two programs last met on October 3 in Fort Worth, where the Cowgirls suffered their only loss of the season. Since then, the Pokes have rattled off five consecutive wins, including three conference victories. TCU enters the match up at 6-3 overall and riding a three-meet winning streak, highlighted by a signature victory over then-No. 1 Georgia.
About the Cowgirls                                                            Â
Head coach Larry Sanchez, in his 27th year at the helm, leads the Cowgirls alongside seventh-year assistant Laura Brainard, third-year assistant Alle Durkin, first-year assistant Ashley Duda and Jody Brainard, who is in his third year with the program and first as an assistant coach.
Fun in the Fall                                                           Â
After losing its first contest of the season at TCU, OSU responded with four consecutive wins to give the Cowgirls a 4-1 record heading into the spring. This marks the first time the Pokes have won four of their first five meets since the 2021-2022 season which saw the Cowgirls named National Champions.
In the month of November, the Cowgirls posted a perfect 3-0 record, with four riders combining for six monthly honors. June Roberson (Horsemanship) and Emma Filiatreau (Reining) were each named NCEA Arion Rider of the Month, while also earning Big 12 Rider of the Month accolades in their respective events. Freshmen Blake Rowan and Sophia Tabasso added to the haul, as Rowan was tabbed the Big 12 Fences Rider of the Month and Tabasso earned Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month honors.
Conference Leaders                                                      Â
The Cowgirls boast a 3-1 conference record, placing them atop the Big 12. In March, Stillwater will host the Big 12 Championship where Oklahoma State will try to win its sixth-straight conference title.

Who to Watch                                                       Â
Ava Bush has had an impressive junior season in Reining, bringing a 5-1 record into Friday's meet. Bush shined in last week's meet at Baylor, riding to a career-high 74.5 to earn the second MOP of her season.
Alana Stanton comes into Friday riding a five-meet win streak and just posted her season-high score of a 77 in Horsemanship in Waco. Stanton's only loss this season came to TCU's Tatum Keller
Sophia Tabasso has played an integral role for OSU's success in her freshman season. Tabasso has a 4-2 record and was named the Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month in November
June Roberson has opened her senior season with a 5-0-1 record, highlighted by being named the NCEA Horsemanship Rider of the Month in November. That same month, she also earned Big 12 Rider of the Month honors in her discipline. The All-American owns 32 career wins, the most among active Cowgirls and the sixth-most in program history for her discipline.
