January 23, 2026 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State men's and women's indoor track & field returned to the indoor circuit Thursday, spearheaded by a record-breaking Triple Jump performance by Kevin Kemboi at the JD Martin Invitational.
Kemboi made a splash in his first track meet in a Cowboy uniform, recording a jump of 15.80 meters and breaking Rajaun Ricketts' record of 15.49 meters that stood for less than a week. The newly minted Cowboy placed second in his first competition out of Eldoret, Kenya. Ricketts competed alongside Kemboi, placing fifth with a jump of 15.39 meters.
Sophomore Lilly Ray clocked a personal-best time of 7.61 in the 60-meter final, her first top-five finish in the event and placed her fourth all-time in the OSU record book. On the men's side, fellow sophomore Cooper Moore won his heat with a time of 8.12, improving his 60-meter hurdle personal best by more than a tenth of a second.
Elsewhere in the field events, redshirt-senior Lauren Smith competed unattached and cleared 3.90 meters on the way to her fourth top-five finish in pole vault in the past year. On the men's side, sophomore Cooper Moore cleared 4.90 meters, setting a new personal-best and putting him fifth in the Cowboy indoor track record book.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls resume action with a split-meet weekend at the Razorback and DeLoss Dodds Invitational meets on Jan. 30-31.
