Billah Jepkirui breaks own school record in 3,000 Meters as Cowgirl and Cowboy Track & Field complete sensational weekend

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's indoor track & field continued their record-breaking ways Saturday at the Razorback and DeLoss Dodds Invitational meets, highlighted by Billah Jepkirui breaking her own school record in the 3,000 Meters.
In her first indoor appearance for the Cowgirls in nearly two years, Jepkirui showed she is back to her 2024 self, during which she was the Big 12 Indoor champion and NCAA runner-up. In the 3K at the Razorback Invitational, Jepkirui dominated a loaded field that included several NCAA All-Americans and professional athletes, clocking a time of 8:45.22, which currently sits fifth in the NCAA this season.
In the same race, teammate Isca Chelangat finished right behind Jepkirui in second with a personal-best time of 8:48.74, which is seventh in the NCAA and second in program history. Fellow Cowgirl Maureen Rutoh also clocked an impressive time of 9:02.74, the fifth-fastest time in Cowgirl history.
Earlier in the day, senior Kaylie Politza and true freshman Elyse Wilmes competed in the 800 Meter Invitational race, with Politza running 2:02.80 and Wilmes right behind in 2:03.09. The pair currently rank No. 9 and No. 10 in the NCAA this season in the 800 Meters, with Wilmes' mark ranking as the third best in Cowgirl history.
Earlier in the day in the men's Mile, Alex Riley led four Cowboys under the four-minute barrier with his time of 3:55.85, which ranks him seventh in program history. Laban Kipkemboi (3:58.55), Will Muirhead (3:59.03) and Oliver Patton (3:59.18) also accomplished the feat. Former Cowboy Fouad also competed at the meet unattached and was third in the competition with his time of 3:53.76.
Elsewhere on the track, sophomore Mason Page clocked an impressive time of 46.38 in the men's 400 Meters, blazing his way to the second-fastest time in program history and a finish in the top ten on the day.
Over at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational in Manhattan, Kan., Cooper Moore completed the final three events of the men's Heptathlon with a total score of 5,475 points across the seven contested events. His mark ranks second in program history and seventh in the Big 12.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls return to action in two weeks at the Tyson Invitational back in Fayetteville, Ark.
