Cowgirl Softball begins fall exhibition season this week

STILLWATER – Cowgirl Softball is set to open their fall season tomorrow, Sept. 23, as they host the USA Softball U-18 team at Cowgirl Stadium for an exhibition match.
Coach Kenny Gajewski and his staff added 12 newcomers to the roster, including an impressive freshman class with eight first-years and four transfers.
Gajewski also welcomed back former Cowgirl Megan Delgadillo as a graduate manager for the 2025-26 season.

For fans planning on coming to the game, here's some helpful information:
Admission is free for all fall ball home games at Cowgirl Stadium and seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis for all fall games.
Fans should park in lot 1 and the grass lot north of Cowgirl Stadium and can enter the stadium through the main gates off McElroy Street.
While there will be no concessions available at fall games, fans are welcome to bring their own food and drinks.

Jayelle Austin, OF, Owasso, Okla. (Owasso HS)
- The No. 3-ranked outfielder, and fifth overall prospect in the nation coming out of high school, according to Extra Innings Softball and Line Drive Media.
- The four-time District 6A-1 Player of the Year and Bill Knight All-World Softball Player of the Year finalist held a .531 batting average throughout four years of HS, totaling 57 doubles, 27 triples, and 27 home runs with 133 RBIs.
- Helped lead Owasso HS to a state championship her senior year as she batted .606 with 63 - including 13 doubles, 13 home runs, and 38 RBIs.
Kaya Booker, OF, Alpharetta, Ga. (Georgia Tech/Chattahoochee HS)
- Recognized by Extra Innings Softball as the 24th-ranked outfielder and 33rd-ranked prospect in her class.
- Single-season school record holder at Chattahoochee HS in batting average (.565), hits (54), RBI (38) and stolen bases (36).
- Named the 2024 Region 5A Offensive Player of the Year and three-time first team All-Region honoree.
Gabby Castillo, C, Richmond, Texas (Churchill Fulshear HS)
- Compiled a .419 batting average in 2024 with 44 hits, four home runs and 26 RBIs for the Texas Bombers Gold under coach Scott Smith.
- 2023 and 2024 Offensive Player of the Year and three-time team MVP at Churchill Fulshear HS.
Preslee Downing, P, Owasso, Okla. (Owasso HS)
- Ranked as the No. 14 recruit in the 2025 Extra Elite 100 by Extra Innings Softball and Named the 2025 Tulsa World All-World Player of the Year.
- Posted a 24-3 record in the circle as a senior with a 1.10 ERA and 261 strikeouts in 162.1 innings pitched.
- Boasts a 76-9 career record with a 1.11 ERA and 705 strikeouts.
Montgomery Henderson, IF, Katy, Texas (Katy HS)
- Ranked as the No. 4 infielder in her class by Extra Innings Softball, and nominated for the Texas Gatorade Player of the Year award.
- Home Run Derby champion at the 2024 Triple Crown Colorado Fourth of July Tournament as she blasted 18 home runs in 60 seconds.
- Posted a .434 batting average in 2024 with 13 home runs and 53 RBIs for the Texas Bombers Gold.
Libby Jaques, OF, Moore, Okla. (Moore HS)
- No. 47 overall recruit in the nation according to Softball America.
- Batted .482 to go with 13 home runs and 37 RBIs as a senior.
- Maintained a .471 batting average throughout her high school career and drove in 164 runs to go with 25 doubles, 19 triples and 44 home runs.
Aubrey Jones, IF, Gaylord, Mich. (Gaylord HS)
- Ranked as the No. 9 recruit in the nation by Extra Innings Softball and considered among the top two-way players in her class.
- 2023-24 NFCA and MaxPreps first team All-American, Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year and MaxPreps Michigan Player of the Year.
- Led the nation with 26 home runs in 2024 as she tabbed a .444 batting average to go with 84 RBIs.
Jayden Jones, IF, Gaylord, Mich.(Virginia Tech/Gaylord HS)
- Slashed .250/.275/.500 and totaled 15 hits – including seven extra-base knocks – in 60 at-bats with 14 runs and 12 RBIs at Virginia Tech.
- Ranked as the No. 4 middle infielder nationally and No. 13 overall by Legacy and Legends Softball coming out of high school.
- Named 2024 Michigan Miss Softball by the Michigan High School Coaches Association and Earned 2024 NFCA third team All-America recognition and first team All-Region honors.
Elle McCloskey, IF, Huntington Beach, Calif. (Mater Dei)
- The No. 34 overall prospect in the class of 2025 according to Softball America.
- The infielder was named the Defensive Player of the Year on two occasions and received first team All-Trinity League honors.
- Played club ball with the BSC Bengals Briggs where she batted .472 in 2024 and featured in the PFG All-American Game and the Colorado Sparkler 16U Future Stars contest.
Lena Perez, IF, Chandler, Ariz. (Long Beach State/Vista Grande HS)
- Played in 146 contests and earned 140 starts across three seasons as the LBSU primary shortstop.
- Holds a career .166 batting average with a .232 on-base percentage and totaled 24 runs scored, nine doubles, a triple and a home run to go with 28 RBIs in her three seasons at Long Beach State.
- In high school, she was named the Region Player of the Year as a senior after setting the school record with 13 home runs and batting .606 with 47 RBIs.
Makala Smith, P, Needville Texas (Needville HS)
- An NFCA second team All-American, District MVP, and the THSCA Super Elite Team Pitcher of the Year during her time at Needville HS.
- Played club softball for the Bombers Gold and maintained a 2.84 ERA with 149 strikeouts in 120.2 IP in 2024 while earning Defensive MVP recognition.
Melina Wilkison, OF, Greensburg, Ind. (Indiana/Ohio State/Greensburg HS)
- Slashed .326/.379/.589 to go with 11 doubles, seven home runs, 41 RBIs and 45 runs scored at Indiana.
- Batted .373 and slugged at a .718 clip and drove in 44 runs with 14 doubles, 11 home runs and seven triples in 2023.
- Two-time NFCA All-Region honoree across her three seasons as a Buckeye and earned first team All-Big Ten accolades in 2023 after leading the Buckeyes in almost every offensive statistic.
