About Oklahoma State
    • Oklahoma State is 3-3-1 on the season and returns to action Thursday night in Commerce, Texas, when the Cowgirls take East Texas A&M in their lone match of the week. It marks the Cowgirls' final non-conference game of the regular season, with OSU set to open Big 12 Conference play next week against Kansas.    • The Cowgirls are coming off a 14-5-3 season in 2024 in which they finished fifth in the Big 12 Conference standings with a 6-3-2 mark and earned a berth in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, where OSU lost in the first round to No. 2 national seed Arkansas.
    • OSU returns seven players who started at least 10 games for the Cowgirls last season, including All-Big 12 performers Gracie Bindbeutel, Xcaret Pineda and Laudan Wilson.
    • Head coach Colin Carmichael entered his 21st season at the helm in 2025 with a career record of 265-110-53 (.681).
Â
Last Week
OSU was victorious in its lone match of the week as the Cowgirls traveled to Tulsa and defeated Oral Roberts, 1-0. Sonora DeFini scored on a header off Landry Fieker's corner kick in the 60th minute, and Logan Marks recorded the shutout with five saves. Â

Â
Injury Bug Biting
Injuries have taken a huge toll on the Cowgirls this season, with numerous key players forced to go on the shelf. Among them:    • All-Big 12 midfielder Laudan Wilson, OSU's leading scorer last season, has played in only one game (vs. Oklahoma on Aug. 17)
    • Gracie Bindbeutel, an All-Big 12 forward, was lost for the remainder of the season with a knee injury after starting the first five games of the season
    • Starting midfielder Chloe Wright has missed two games
    • Lexi Lee has missed four games
    • Emmy Hedden has yet to play this season
    • Juliette Perreault missed the first five games of the season
    • Leading goal scorer and All-Big 12 midfielder Xcaret Pineda was injured late in the first half against Oral Roberts and did not return to the game

Preseason Love
Three Cowgirls were on the 27-member Preseason All-Big 12 Team as voted on by the league's head coaches. Midfielders Xcaret Pineda and Laudan Wilson and defender Jazmin Brown collected the honor.    Additionally, Pineda was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Preseason Best XI Third Team and was ranked No. 30 on the outlet's National Top 100 list.
Â
Elite
Xcaret Pineda is one of 43 players on the 2025 Hermann Trophy Watch List, which was compiled by members of the Division I Women's All-America Council.    The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.Â
OSU has had two Hermann Trophy semifinalists in its history, Yolanda Odenyo in 2008, and AD Franch, who made that list in 2010 and 2011.
Â
X Gon' Give It To Ya
It's safe to say OSU's offense runs through Xcaret Pineda.    The Cowgirls' senior midfielder has played a role in six of OSU's 10 goals this season, finding the back of the net five times and also recording an assist. She notched the first multi-goal game of her career with a brace against Arkansas State.Â
Pineda ranks fourth in the Big 12 in goals and is fifth in the league with 11 points, She is also fifth in the Big 12 with 22 shots, nine of those on frame.
With just one more goal, Pineda will tie her career high for goals in a season — she has tallied six goals each of the last two seasons.
In 68 career games, 64 as a starter, Pineda has recorded 19 goals and 12 assists while taking 157 shots.
Â
Four Corners
OSU has recorded 47 corner kicks, an average of nearly seven per game.    And the Cowgirls have taken advantage of those scoring opportunities as six of their 10 goals have come off corner kicks.
Taryn Thibeau has recorded a career-high three assists, with each coming off a corner kick, while Jazmin Brown's two goals are also a career best and both came on headers off a corner kick. Sonora DeFini has also scored two headers off corners.
