Cowgirl Soccer Defeats Tulsa in Preseason Exhibition

TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State earned a 2-0 win over Tulsa in a preseason exhibition match Friday night at Hurricane Soccer Stadium.
Gracie Bindbeutel and Xcaret Pineda netted goals for the Cowgirls, while Logan Marks and Caroline Dill combined for the shutout in goal, with Marks playing the opening half before Dill preserved the clean sheet in the second half.
Bindbeutel put the Cowgirls up in the 26th minute, collecting a pass from Aubrey Wagner and delivering a shot through the box to the far post.
In the 59th minute, Bindbeutel also played a role in OSU's second goal as she drew a foul in the box to earn a penalty kick. Pineda would step up and bury the attempt to make the score 2-0.
The Cowgirls finished with a 10-2 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
OSU opens the regular season Thursday when it hosts Mercer. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Neal Patterson Stadium.
