April 07, 2025 | Cowgirl Golf
Dallas, Texas - The 28th-ranked Oklahoma State women's golf team finished day one of the Veritex Bank Collegiate in ninth place following a 2-over 290 performance in round two at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
Â
The Cowgirls struggled in the cooler morning temperatures, shooting 19-over collectively, but as the weather heated up, so did the Pokes. All six Cowgirls improved on their first-round totals leading to a 17-shot improvement between rounds one and two (the largest turnaround among the 14-team field). OSU is currently 17 strokes behind the leader Texas Tech heading into Tuesday's final round.Â
Â
Marta Silchenko and Grace Kilcrease led the Cowgirls, both going 4-over for the day to end in a tie for 16th. Silchenko fired a team-low 2-under 70 in round two, rattling off four birdies in her final 18 holes. Kilcrease went 75-73 on the day while logging the 100th round of her collegiate career.
Â
Freshmen Summer Lee and Tarapath Panya bounced back from their first rounds by firing a 74 (+2) and a 73 (+1), respectively. Lee heads into the final round in a tie for 35th. Panya earned her first collegiate eagle on her second-to-last hole of the day and sits in a tie for 27th.
Â
Thitaporn Saithip went 12-over for the day while freshman Lucy Darr, competing as an individual, sits in a tie for 27th following a second-round score of 73.
