Cowgirl Softball drops series finale at Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. — A three-run home run from Kansas' Olivia Bruno resulted in the No. 23 Oklahoma State softball team dropping the series finale 3-2 at Arrocha Ballpark Sunday.
The Cowgirls dipped to 29-17 overall and 10-9 in the Big 12, while the Jayhawks improved to 21-24 on the season and 6-15 in the conference.
Tia Warsop opened the scoring for Oklahoma State in the second inning with an RBI single to score Claire Timm.
Kansas took the lead in the sixth off a three-run home run from Bruno.
Warsop singled in pinch runner Macy Graf in the seventh inning to cut the deficit to one.
Ruby Meylan dropped to 19-7 after striking out nine and allowing five hits. KU's Katie Brooks improved to 7-8.
The Cowgirls return to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday for a non-conference matchup against North Texas in Cowgirl Stadium. The game will be live streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
