DAYTONA, Fla.— The Oklahoma State Cheer program traveled to Daytona, Florida last weekend to compete at the 2025 NCA College National Championship. The Large Co-Ed team placed third, while the All-Girl team took home fifth after the two-day event.
The Large Co-Ed team ended with 2.5 points in deductions on day one. On day two, the Large Co-Ed team put on a performance with minimal mistakes. The two performances allowed the team to secure third place.
The All-Girl team was second after day one of the competition with one mistake. However, on day two the squad suffered an injury during the performance. The routine was stopped, and the floor was cleared. After filling the spot, the All-Girl team took the floor once again and put out a routine with few mistakes. They earned a fifth-place finish.
"More than any other season, these teams dealt with many challenges throughout the year, and I'm proud of both teams and their mental toughness throughout the competition and the season," said OSU cheer head coach Lindsay Bracken.
The OSU Cheer program has a total of 18 National Championships, with the last two being won back-to-back by Large Co-Ed in 2021 and 2022. The championships are split between multiple teams, Large Co-Ed has a total of nine, Small Co-Ed has three, All-Girl has four and the remaining two titles were won in the Group Stunt competition.
While a new national championship was not brought back to Stillwater, the entire program has gone through injuries, roster changes and personal hardships. The resilience shown not only during competition but throughout the year is a true representation of the Cowboy Culture.
