Cowgirl Tennis Sweeps No. 22 Baylor

WACO, Texas – Oklahoma State's No. 26 ranked women's tennis team earned its first top 25 win of the season with a 4-0 sweep of No. 22 Baylor on Sunday in Waco, Texas.
The Cowgirls have now won seven consecutive matches and are 14-6 on the season with an 8-1 mark in conference play. They've also won five-straight matches on the road and nine of their last 10 against Baylor.
For the seventh consecutive match, OSU won the doubles point to take an early lead. The No. 39 team of Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp got their second ranked win of the weekend, beating No. 24 Liubov Kostenko and Cristina Tiglea, 6-1.
Kylie Collins and Marcela Lopez provided the other doubles win, defeating Sierra Berry and Na Dong, 6-4, to clinch the point. Gracie Epps and Melisa Ercan led Kennedy Gibbs and Zuzanna Kubacha, 5-4, when the match was abandoned.
Oklahoma State paired wins on courts one, two and five with the doubles point to secure the win. Melisa Ercan was the first to finish, beating Kostenko 6-0, 7-5, before No. 81 Komar defeated Tiglea 6-4, 7-5. No. 58 Epps put on the finishing touches with a win over Gibbs 6-4, 7-5, to conclude the sweep.
No. 104 Lopez led Nanaka Sato 6-4, 5-7, 3-0, while Nijkamp was headed to a third set with Kubacha at 6-7 (1-7), 6-1, and Collins trailed No. 87 Dong, 4-6, 5-2, when play was stopped.
The Cowgirls will return home next weekend for their final two home matches of the regular season, beginning with Utah on Thursday at 5 p.m. followed by senior day against BYU on Saturday at 1 p.m.
