Second-half Surge Lifts Cowgirl Soccer

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State defeated North Texas, 3-1, in a spring exhibition match Saturday afternoon at Neal Patterson Stadium.
The Cowgirls, who improved to 3-0 this spring, got off to a slow start with the game scoreless at intermission.
However, Xcaret Pineda got things going in the second half with a goal in the 64th minute to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead. Six minutes later, Reganne Morris scored with a header to put OSU up, 2-0.
The onslaught continued when a penalty kick was awarded to the Cowgirls; Aubrey Wagner stepped up and converted the attempt to give OSU a 3-0 advantage.
North Texas responded with its lone goal of the match in the 87th minute.
The Cowgirls return to exhibition action next Saturday against Rose State at Neal Patterson Stadium.
