Cowgirl Tennis Beats Kansas State, 4-1

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Oklahoma State's No. 36 ranked women's tennis team beat Kansas State, 4-1, on Friday in Manhattan, Kansas.
The Cowgirls improve to 10-6 and extend their win streak to three. It was also the 100th Big 12 win of head coach Chris Young's career and extends OSU's streak against unranked opponents to 39.
In doubles, Oklahoma State got wins on courts two and three to secure the point. First, Alian Zack and Marcela Lopez defeated Sana Garakani and Zhanel Rustemova, 6-3, before Gracie Epps and Melisa Ercan took down Veronika Kulhava and Maria Santos, 6-3, to earn the point.
On court one, the No. 69 pairing of Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp trailed Maralgoo Chomsomjav and Charlotte Keitel, 6-5, when their match was stopped.
Kansas State struck first in singles as Santos beat No. 49 Epps, 6-2, 6-2. OSU would put the next three points on the board to win the match, beginning with Ercan taking down Rustemova, 6-3, 6-2.
No. 105 Lopez was the next to secure a point, beating Tereza Polakova, 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-0, before No. 81 Komar finished off Keitel, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, to clinch the match.
Two singles matches went unfinished as Nijkamp led Chomsomjav, 3-6, 7-5, 5-0, while Zack was behind Kulhava, 6-4, 3-6, 1-2.
Oklahoma State will look to pick up its first ranked win of the season on Sunday when it takes on No. 28 Pepperdine on the road in its final non-conference contest of the season.
