Cowgirl Golf sits in fourth after day one of the Yale Invitational
March 10, 2025 | Cowgirl Golf
La Quinta, Calif. - The 27th-ranked Oklahoma State women's golf team finished rounds one and two of the Yale Invitational in fourth place.Â
Â
Sunny conditions at PGA West's Greg Norman Course made scoring difficult throughout the day, but the Cowgirls played consistent golf, tallying the most pars among the field of 12 teams. They're 19 strokes behind No. 15 North Carolina heading into Tuesday's final round, which begins at 10 a.m. CT with a shotgun start. OSU will be paired with Big 12 rival Kansas State and No. 12 Vanderbilt.
Â
Junior Grace Kilcrease and sophomore Ellie Bushnell turned in identical scorecards, both going 3-under (69) in round one and shooting even par (72) in round two to end the day tied for ninth, just seven strokes behind North Carolina's Ing Iadpluem. Kilcrease carded her second eagle of the season on the hole No. 2.
Â
Marta Silchenko, playing in the lineup for the second time this season, carded a bogey-free first round (70). She followed it up with a 1-over, 73 and is in 17th. Freshmen Summer Lee and Tarapath Panya rounded out the lineup shooting 4-over and 9-over, respectively.
Â
Fellow freshman, Lucy Darr -- competing this week as an individual -- had a rollercoaster day, carding nine birdies (third most in the entire field). She enters the third round tied for 26th.
